The Four Things We Believe

  1. Jesus is the Son of God.

The eternal Son of God took on human flesh when he was born of the virgin Mary by the miraculous power of God the Father. He was given the name “Jesus,” which means “the Lord saves.” Jesus is fully human and fully divine.

  2. The Bible is the Word of God.

God communicated his will and empowered his people to write it down, faithfully and infallibly. The Old Testament is the story of the rise of Israel in preparation for the coming of the Messiah. The New Testament is the testimony of Jesus the Messiah’s life, death, Resurrection, and exaltation.

  3. The Gospel is the way to God.

“Gospel” means “Good News,” particularly, that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose again. When we truly believe and follow him, he forgives our sin, reconciles us to God the Father, and gives us eternal life.

  4. The Church is the people of God.

It has always been God's plan to have a people, right from the very beginning. God's longing finds its fulfillment in the community of faith built around his Son. Believers in Jesus are formed into a family that is indwelt with the Holy Spirit. The Church is not a building but a people — God's visible expression on Earth.
